I launched this website because of the great response to the Marketers Mantras newsletter. I was using this domain as a landing page for my JV Giveaways resources page. If that is what you are looking for, then click on the link in the top menu. JV giveaways will be part of the information on this site. It will be filed under List Building but I will leave a link in the top menu for a while.

Go ahead and bookmark this site because I am going to be adding a lot of good content in the near future. I don't always get a lot of time to work on my websites so it may take awhile before I get it into shape. Please have patience, but don't forget to check back. I work in spurts but usually get a lot done when I do get the time.

Traffic Exchanges PDF Print E-mail
Written by JT Martin

Most people who decide to try their hand at internet marketing are usually looking to make some extra money.
This usually means that they have very little or no money to invest in advertising, web hosting, and the other basics needed to be a successful internet marketer.

I think that is why so many "newbies" fall prey to all of the garbage programs out there that promise the moon and deliver nothing but heart ache. The lure of quick money with little or no investment of time or money is too much to resist.

I'm getting off track here. (don't get me started!) Anyhow, just for the record. Internet marketing is a business just like any other. It takes hard work and dedication to succeed. With time you can automate a lot of things and the initial investment is not near the cost of a conventional business.

Ok, with that said lets talk about Traffic Exchanges. Traffic exchanges are programs that let other people view
your website in exchange for your viewing theirs'. Most of them are absolutely free to join. Since you have a small
budget or none at all, your investment will be in time.

When you view other peoples' pages to earn credits, there is a timer on the page. These timers vary from 5-30 seconds depending on the exchange. When the timer runs out, you are required to click somewhere on the page and you will be taken to the next site. The process is repeated over and over. That is how you earn credits for your site to be shown.

Obviously, this can be very time consuming, but it is the trade off you make for not spending any money!

Now, there are some things that you want to take into consideration. You need to remember that the people that are using the traffic exchanges are mostly people in the same position as you are. No advertising budget!

Don't expect to make a lot of sales with an affiliate product or explode the down line in your network marketing
program. Always keep your audience in mind. These people don't have a lot of money to spend. Granted, you will make the occasional sale or get someone to join your mlm, but this is pretty much luck.

Also, you will see a lot of the same affiliate pages over and over again. These are hundreds of people promoting web pages that look exactly alike. This is boring. After several days of surfing, you will find that you only pay attention to something new, something you haven't seen before.

See where I'm going with this? If at all possible, you want to create something that is unique. I have found that the best use for traffic exchanges is for lead capture. Build your email list. I'm sure you have heard the importance of this preached over and over again.

That is because it is true! From the minute you begin your career as an internet marketer, you want to continue to build your email list always. We will cover some very effective ways to do this in another issue, but for now, back
to traffic exchanges.

Build yourself a lead capture site. Give away something free to entice people to submit their information. This can
be a free report, ebook, software, be creative!

There are a lot of products that come with resale rights that you can buy and then give away. Do a search on "articles" and you will find lots of sites that allow you to give away other peoples articles (as long as you don't change them).

Try to use things that pertain to your product or service that you wish to market to your list later on. Don't try to sell them on first contact.

Design your site so that it grabs your prospects attention. You only have 5-30 seconds before they click on to the
next site, so don't be long winded. It doesn't need to be fancy. Some of the best converting websites are simple text. You don't need audio or flash presentations.

The power of your website is in the written word.

Most of the free traffic exchanges don't trade traffic at a direct 1-1 ratio. They encourage you to upgrade for this to happen, don't worry about this. If you are going to commit to a monthly payment, your money is better spent else where. Stay with the freebies.

You do want to keep an eye on your email box for specials. Almost all of the traffic exchanges that I have used, run specials from time to time, where you can earn double credits for a set time period on a specific day. You want to make sure you watch for these and take advantage of them.

You also want to make sure that you participate in the little traffic games that they have while you are surfing. You can win extra credits this way. For instance, Traffic Swarm holds a daily lottery. I have seen the pots as big as 25,000 credits.

Another way to earn extra credits is by referring others to the traffic site. When you join, you will be given a referral link that you can promote to get people to join under you. When people join with your referral link, you get a set amount of credits, plus you get a percentage of the credits that they
earn.

Affiliate X Factor - How To Be A Super Affiliate PDF Print E-mail

I don't know who said it but I wish I had a famous quote to use here about emulating the success of others if you want to have similar success. We can learn how to be successful by doing what successful people do. Super affiliate, Andrew Fox, lives by this rule. He has put out a free report that reveals some of his history and how he has become one of clickbanks' leading affiliates.

In the report he states that he studied the techniques of Corey Rudl and Yanik Silver. He saved up his money and bought Corey Rudl's marketing DVD's and went into business online with a partner. Five years later, the partnership had split up and Andrew had learned a few things about affiliate marketing. Enough to make over $39,000 selling "The Day Job Killer" as an affiliate.

I am telling you this story because Andrew is about to launch a new product called Affiliate X Factor on March 12th, 2008. But this isn't about the product. This is about the pre-launch campaign and the methods he is using that set him apart from the rest and truly make him a super affiliate. Lets look at his campaign.

The first thing he has done is create a free report to give away. No big deal and nothing new. He is collecting email addresses through a squeeze page so he builds his list as he gives away his free report. Again, no big surprise, this is standard operating procedure among marketers in the know. (newbies, I hope you are taking notes) Now here is where it gets interesting. Andrew states in his free report that one of the biggest reasons that most affiliate marketers do not do well is because they do not spend the effort required to make what they are doing unique.

You must ask yourself, "How can I set myself apart from the rest of the crowd?" How did Andrew? By giving away $1.00 for every referral and $.50 for every second tier referral. All you have to do is get someone to download his free report and you earn a dollar. You then get fifty cents for anyone they get to download the free report. You also will make a 50% commission is any of your referrals buys the product when it launches. Most of you are probably thinking, "Andrew has lost his mind, he's going to end up paying out a lot of money".

You are probably correct, but he his going to probably make ten times what he pays out. You need to remember that every referral he pays is also now a subscriber to his newsletter. Some people will opt out but most won't. Andrew is very good at relation marketing and he will make a lot of money on the back end with the list he builds from this campaign. A responsive opt in list can be a valuable asset for years to come.

Lets look at the real genius of this campaign. The list is nothing compared to the army of affiliates that he his rapidly building 3 weeks before the project launches. I myself belong to quite a few internet marketers lists and everyone is jumping on the band wagon to make some easy quick cash. Let's face it, how hard is it to give away something for free? I would like to see the metrics of this campaign so far. There has to be thousands of people promoting this already and it's not even a full week in.

Andrew is also preparing more free content to give away prior to launch which will even further fuel the fire. I predict that Affiliate X Factor is going to be a huge success and may even have a shot at breaking some clickbank records. My hat goes off to Andrew Fox for this brilliant piece of viral marketing.

Email Marketing Is Not Dead PDF Print E-mail
Written by JT Martin

There is a horrible rumor going around that marketing your products and services via email has lost it's effectiveness. I beg to differ. I do agree that the marketplace has changed drastically in the last few years. People are taking massive action to prevent and reduce so called "spam" emails and will not arbitrarily give out their email address. This means that when someone does give out their email information, they are genuinely interested in your product or service.

This is the age of relation marketing. People are much more wary of over hyped sales pages promising the moon. Today's marketing savvy prospects require a more subtle approach. You need to give them something in return for their information. Even pay per click prospects need to be handled differently. The days of sending an AdWords prospect directly to a sales page are over. OK, some people are still doing it, but they are losing sales.

The proper technique to maximize your convert ions is to send them to a landing page, normally called a squeeze page in marketing circles, where you give them a free report or a free trial of your product in return for their email information. They enter their name and email into a form that triggers your auto responder which will send them a series of emails that they have agreed to receive. Instead of going directly for the sale, you have signed them up to your newsletter where you can send them future offers and information relative to your niche.

There are different schools of thought on how to handle this. Some people say you should spend more time earning the prospects trust and send them several emails with help full information to establish yourself as an expert in your niche. You don't try to sell them anything until the third or fourth email in the series. There are other marketers that believe in always having some kind of offer in every email. The results will vary based on the niche. The best thing to do is to test, test, test, and test some more.

Set up two identical squeeze pages where one subscribes to an auto responder using the direct approach and one that subscribes to an auto responder that uses the more subtle approach. Take the extra effort to test your results and you will be rewarded. The truth of the matter is that most people don't make the extra effort and then wonder why they don't get good results. Find out what works and then stick to it.

Another form of email marketing is to use safe lists. A safe list is just a membership site where people accept emails from other members and in turn get to mail their offers to the membership. The most popular safe lists are credit based, meaning that you earn credits to send your emails by reading other member's emails. You still want to use the same approach with safe lists. Send them to a squeeze page and collect their info. You want to make sure that you use an attention getting subject line and title to your squeeze page. Safe list members are looking at your page to earn credits, not because they searched for your product.

Email marketing is not dead, only the methodology has changed. I promote a very popular affiliate product through click bank. The owner of the product gives his affiliates a lot of valuable tools to use including auto responder messages and a squeeze page. My sales conversions tripled when I started sending prospects to the squeeze page instead of directly to the sale page. Not only did I make more sales, but most of the prospects are still on my list and I send them offers for other products as well.

I like safe lists so much, I started my own called JT's Ad Venture. It is different than most safe lists in that you don't receive any emails. Instead you login and view other people's ads to earn credits. This way you don't have the hassle of dealing with over stuffed email accounts or lose credits to unopened emails. If you would like to see a list of safe lists that I recommend go to http://traffichitsmultiplier.com/safelists.html.

The Impact Of Web Page Graphics PDF Print E-mail
Written by JT Martin

How often do you make decisions or judgments about a person or place based on appearances alone? I know that we are not supposed to make snap judgments like that but it is human nature to do so. We live in a word where first impressions can mean everything and most of the time it is the only chance you have for approval.

This phenomenon is multiplied by ten in cyberspace. I am sure a lot of you shop on line as much as you go to the mall. When you go to a store in the mall. The physical act of walking in commits you to at least a few minutes for even a brief walk through. Do you spend this much time at a digital store? If you are looking for an item on line, most of us will do a search and then start browsing through the results.

We literally have pages and pages of results that are supposed to be something similar to what we searched for. How much time do you spend looking art each result? I would feel safe to wager that you only spend a fraction of the time that you would spend at a store in the mall, unless something really grabbed your attention.

That is why the look and feel of your website is crucial to it's success. Don't get me wrong...content is still king, but today's fast paced web surfers have grown accustomed to taking a quick glance and moving on. You better have something unique or special to catch their eye and give your sales copy a chance to work it's magic.

You need to have professional looking web page graphics that are also unique. There are a lot of nice graphics packages for sale but there are a lot of people that also purchased these graphics. This is especially true in the Internet marketing arena. I have seen the same header graphics used over and over again. Your best chance for success is to a professional create some web page graphics for you, unless you are a master at Photoshop.

Now if you are thinking about going out and buying Photoshop to do your own web page graphics, you need to know that it is an $800 program and it will take you weeks to learn how to use it. I am speaking from experience. Photoshop is a very powerful and complicated program that you will not become proficient at in a few days. Hiring someone to do your web graphics can be expensive but if you look hard, you can find some good deals.

I recently spent 2 weeks looking for someone to make me a membership card graphic to use in JV Giveaway events. I became pretty frustrated. Everyone wanted almost $100 dollars just for a one banner sized graphic. Imagine what graphics for an entire website would run? I even tried Elance and got a quote for $65 from a company in India. I tried to do one myself with Irfanview and was disgusted with my results after 3 hours of work.

Then later that evening I was sending out a promotion to all of the safe lists that I belong to and noticed a small banner at the bottom of the page for a company called Grafixplus. I clicked on it and checked out the website. Long story short, I now have place to get professional graphics made for very reasonable prices. Their motto is that "all web page graphics done for you by Grafixplus are negotiable". That's good news for you.
